All consultations take place on either a Tuesday evening or a Thursday. Dr Baker consults regularly at The Droitwich Spa Hospital, The Priory Hospital, Birmingham and Nuffield Health, Cheltenham.
Dr Baker’s preference is to have new consultations face to face to allow an initial clinical examination if indicated with subsequent follow-up, usually by telephone. If you would prefer a different consultation type for either your initial or follow-up consultation then Dr Baker will be happy to accommodate this upon request. The fee remains the same regardless of the appointment type.
If any blood tests, stool tests, scans and/or endoscopy procedures are recommended for you following your consultation then these will incur an additional fee. Standardised self-pay package costs are set by the hospital for all procedures and Dr Baker’s fees will therefore differ depending on whether a patient is self-funding or insured. The hospital self-pay team will provide you with all the information you require.

Using your private medical insurance
Dr Baker is registered with multiple insurance companies including; Aetna, Allianz, Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Cigna, G&M/ProAmica, Healix, Police Mutual, Simply Health, Vitality Health and WPA.
The above list is not exhaustive however and so if you would like a consultation then do contact your insurance company and they can liaise with Dr Baker to confirm in advance if required.
It is strongly recommended to always contact your insurance company prior to any consultation or having any subsequent tests in order to obtain a pre-authorisation code. They will be able to confirm with you the type of policy cover you have as there may well be an excess for you to pay on any claim. All types of cover vary so do ensure you are clear with your insurance provider whether you would be subject to any excess or shortfall charges as these are a common feature of many policies.
Dr Baker’s fees are all in line with the medical insurance companies schedule of fees and will soon be available to view on PHIN (www.phin.org.uk). Every type of test that may have been recommended for you following your consultation has a specific CCSD code that can be provided to your insurance company in advance. This code can be obtained following your consultation from the hospital team directly as needed.
It is important to note that the doctor’s contract is always with the patient, meaning it’s the patients responsibility to make sure that the doctor’s terms and fees are met. Please ensure you are familiar with the terms and conditions of booking as late cancellations or non-attendance are likely to be subject to charges.

Payments are requested to be made upon receipt of your invoice and cash or bank transfers are the preferred methods of payment receipt.
